Derk Spire is a businessman who works with people to help them fulfill their needs on a daily basis. But he's also a professional athlete, biding his time to show his talents on the biggest sporting stages in the United States.

Derk is a cowboy, slinging a rope with precision in an effort to make a living on the rodeo trail. As a header, he always works with a partner in an event where the fastest time wins.

It's also a family thing. One of his key partners is header Jay Nellesen, Derk's brother-in-law, and the two have already made history near their northwest Missouri homes when they posted the fastest time in the history of the Sidney, Iowa, PRCA Rodeo.
